Everyone associated with the Office of the University Economist administratively are members of other departments at Arizona State University. Most are employees of the L. William Seidman Research Institute in the W. P. Carey School of Business. The Office of the University Economist provides the majority of annual salary support for the principal research staff listed below.
In addition, the Office of the University Economist provides salary support for the affiliated faculty researchers, research support staff and administrative support staff listed below. The level of support received by those affiliated with the Office of the University Economist varies over time depending upon their time allocations to University Economist initiatives. Other members of the ASU community also may participate in University Economist projects. For example, Arthur Blakemore, University Vice Provost and Chair of Economics, and Berthold Herrendorf, Associate Professor of Economics, contributed the paper “Economic Growth: The Importance of Education and Technological Development.”
