Assesses the economic contribution of Arizona State University to Mesa’s economy. The combined impacts of spending by the university, its employees, and its students in fiscal year 2019 totaled more than 3,700 jobs, $200 million in labor income, and $333 million in gross city product.

After earning a B.A. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley, Tim received a M.A. in economics from the University of California at Davis and a Ph.D. in economics from Virginia Tech University in 1971. Tim was a faculty member in the ASU Department of Economics from 1970 until he retired in 2004. He began working for the predecessor of the L. William Seidman Research Institute in the 1970s and has been associated with the Institute since it was established, serving as director from 1995 through 2004.

Eva received her B.S. in finance from Babes-Bolyai University in Romania, a M.S. in business management from Politehnica University in Romania, and a M.A. in economics from Western Michigan University in 2000. She worked as a research analyst at the W. E. Upjohn Institute in Kalamazoo, Michigan prior to joining ASU’s L. William Seidman Research Institute in 2007.
